Bird & Bird advises the Landbanking Group on successful pre-seed financing round and expansion of leadership team

International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Munich-based eco-tech The Landbanking Group GmbH on its successful pre-seed financing round and the expansion of its leadership team.

Through the firm’s pre-seed financing advice, The Landbanking Group secured investments in the form of convertible loans from an international group of technology, fintech and impact investors. The investors include Planet A, The SUN Institute for Environment & Sustainability, Max of Liechtenstein, André Hoffmann, Fabian Strüngmann, Family Goldbeck and others. The parties agreed not to disclose the invested sum.

The leadership is expanded with the appointment of Tobias Bandel (founder and former CEO of Soil & More) to lead its Biome activities and Christopher Schuetz (formerly with HypoVereinsbank, Baader Bank, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange, SIX Digital Exchange and CRX Markets) to lead its Markets activities. Bird & Bird advised on the corresponding employment contracts including Virtual Stock Option Plans.

Bird & Bird continues to work with The Landbanking Group beyond these specific projects providing i.a. banking regulatory and IP advice.

The Landbanking Group is an eco-tech start-up that provides a platform that allows land stewards, investors and businesses to open natural capital accounts. Utilizing latest technology, these accounts document, valorise bank and trade e.g. biodiversity, soil health, carbon and water storage generated by land conservation and restauration.
