As Counsel at Bird & Bird, I am a member of the firm's Commercial, Technology and Communications, and Privacy and Data Protection practices.
For more than six years, I have been advising both national and international companies at Bird & Bird in three key areas: European data protection laws, consumer law and IT contract law.
In the realm of data protection, I advise clients across the full spectrum of GDPR-related matters, from strategic compliance planning and policy development to contract negotiations and drafting exercises that ensure data protection requirements are seamlessly integrated into business operations. Where disputes arise, I have particular expertise in handling GDPR claims, including representing clients contentiously in court proceedings when necessary.
My consumer law practice centres on advising clients in the e-commerce sector, helping them navigate the complex EU regulatory landscape to ensure compliance whilst optimising their business operations. This includes ensuring that e-commerce platforms meet all legal requirements, conducting comprehensive reviews of website legal documentation and analysing the entire customer journey to identify and address compliance gaps throughout the purchasing process.
In IT contract law, I have extensive experience in drafting and reviewing technology-related agreements, with a particular focus on providers of software solutions, such as SaaS solutions. In doing so, I ensure that our clients' contractual framework meets both the technical requirements and German legal requirements, particularly under German law for standard terms and conditions.
Prior to my tenure at Bird & Bird, I gained valuable experience through placements at a law firm in Tokyo, the German Federal Ministry for Traffic and Digital Infrastructure, and the Public Prosecutor's Office Berlin in the area of white-collar crime, providing me with a broad legal perspective and international insight.
