Hannah Buckley

I work as a Commercial associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team in London, where I focus on renewable energy, defence and infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked in-house at a development company focusing predominantly on renewable energy projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. I worked as part of a team developing a hydropower project, working on the drafting and preparation of financing and project documents, as well as ancillary documentation. As part of the project development, I worked closely with prospective lenders and providers of credit enhancement facilities, as well as with government ministries and stakeholders, specifically in Sierra Leone. As part of a different venture for the same company, I gained in-house experience on the legal aspects of mining, including the negotiation and drafting of offtake and gold-purchase agreements for a mining operation in Ghana.

I also have experience working across energy and infrastructure projects from a number of cross-border, multi-jurisdictional transactions during my time working at another international law firm, within both the Capital Markets and Project Finance teams.
