Sofia Paksuniemi

I am a senior associate in our Intellectual Property group in Helsinki. I advise our national and international clients on a broad range of aspects within intellectual property law and regulatory matters in the Life Sciences and Healthcare and Retail and Consumer sectors.

As part of our Intellectual Property team, I assist our clients in all areas of IP law, including disputes. I also provide regulatory advice on a broad range of matters, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, marketing and advertising of products, and consumer law.

I graduated with a Master of Laws degree from the University of Eastern Finland in 2020, with minor studies in biology. I completed my training on the bench at the District Court of Northern Karelia in 2023.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I gained experience from both the private and public sectors, including working at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office, and completing traineeships focused on intellectual property at another law firm and the IPR University Center.

I work fluently in Finnish and English. I am a member of the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights.
